Claims Reporting
At Alder & Cox, we believe that customers purchase insurance with the expectation that when they experience a loss, they will
receive prompt, courteous, and professional service. We strive to meet or exceed those expectations. Your customer service representative will take your information and report it to the insurance company. The company will then assign an adjuster to handle your claim, and the adjuster will contact you and begin the settlement process. We will contact you shortly after your initial call to verify that you have been contacted by an adjuster and they are taking care of you.
What if I need to report a claim after business hours?
All of our carriers offer some kind of 24 hour direct claim reporting services. Most will offer you the option of reporting a claim electronically from their web site, or via phone if you prefer. Prior to calling, please have your policy number, if possible, and details of the loss. The insurance carrier will forward a copy of your claim report to our office. Once we have received notification that you have filed a claim, we will follow up with you. You will receive the same care and service from us regardless of how your claim is initially reported.
What if I have a tree on my house or car, or a hole in my roof?
Part of the conditions of an insurance policy is that when a loss occurs, you take reasonable steps to prevent further damage. The problem can be knowing who to call in such a situation. Very few of us have someone in mind we could call to come to our home and secure a damaged roof from further water damage, or remove a fallen tree until a claims adjuster can get there.
For this reason, we have arranged with the following businesses that they will be available to handle these emergency situations for our customers. Both companies are customers of ours, so you can feel secure knowing an insured contractor is doing the work. They will secure your home from further damage at a fair price, and do so in a professional manner. Our customers who have used their services have been consistently very pleased with their work.

Please Note: you are under no obligation to use either of these companies to secure your property. This arrangement is for the convenience of our customers only. You may use the vendor of your choice to protect your property if storm damage occurs. Also, payment is due when service is rendered. The insurance company will reimburse your cost as part of the settlement process.
